We spend some more days in the Carlisle Bay altough the swell coming around the south corner of Barbados shakes us though quite well and the jet skis making competition around the anchoring yachts also don’t contribute to a calm stay…

The beach is beautiful and very clean but best enjoyed in the morning hours when there are only a few lokals going jogging or swimming.

But before we can go explore more of Barbados we fist have to finish the Dinghy cover – the skipper said and started sewing… after one day the work looks almost finished, after 2.5 days it then is  – we find that the details are the most challenging bit while wanting to get finished 😉

Then we visit the Doyle sail manufacturing site and get a tour through the factory and some rests of tissue from the garbage bin ;-).

Back in the city we found our dinghy almost drowned, it must have rained a lot while we were away…

Then we hopped over to Grenada in a bit more than a day – having an easy passage with the wind from behind and a lot of fishing activity…

Fishing this time seemed more an  activity because we had 7 bites, but only managed to get in 3 of them.

Do we both always get along well? Yes, we only have heavy discussions when we loose the fish that we had on the hook. Especially delicate this time was the moment when the line ran out so fast that I couldn’t stop it and the end of the line ripped of the rod, so the fish disapeared together with bait and line…. When I then screamed at Reto “I thought you had checked that it was fixed well?” there was quite a lot of tension in the air…

Well, after a few shouts we recovered and the next morning we happily took out two Mahi Mahi, so another time it meant eating fish carpaccio for lunch and grilled fish for dinner for several days!

Then we arrive at Prickly bay and immediately feel comfortable. First of all it is quite here! Now and then a dinghy, but no jet skis – what a peaceful environment!

Then everything is so easy! The dinghy dock at the Prickly bay marina and the Timbers are both perfect, the happy hour prices are ok, there are a lot of activities being promoted by the cruisers community every morning on the “net” , there are even “shopping busses” leaving regularly to pass by whereever necessary.

Also the regular busses are passing by quite close and the distances are even ok to walk ;-).

One of the mornings I even dare to try out Yoga and I am not surprised how difficult it is for me, even to sit like that with the knees crossed to begin with! It was really quite exhausting but excellent! Thank you so much for this experiance, Pierre-Yves!

Then we explore Grenada’s capital, St. George and I am happy to find out that the vegetable and fruits are becoming affordable again after the price shock I had in Barbados ;-).

On Sunday we make a beach walk – thanks to Stefan who fixed Reto’s knee the day before!

Then we move our She San a few miles east to the Le Phare Bleu Marina in order to make her ready to receive our guests and to explore the island with the bicycle for a change…

We really like Grenada and feel extremely well here, we will enjoy some more time here and then for sure come back later in the year!
