Just before Christmas the high season starts here in Thailand. Also for us the family visits continue. One day before my parents my brother Alfred arrives with his family here in Phuket. We visit them in their apartment in Rawai all the way to the south of the peninsula.

In Southwest Thailand from Langkawi to Phuket

About our Sail from Langkawi to Phuket, Diving in Ko Ha, in the G&T Boatyard in Thalang and our round trip with Micke and Lucka through the Phang Nga Bay to Ko Phi Phi, Ko Lanta, Ko Muk (Emerald Cave), Ko Ha, Ko Pu and Ko Roi

From Kuah in Langkawi we engine around the corner and pass the West coast of Langkawi. Ko Tarutao, the next island 3.5 miles north is already Thai and the fishing boats again look completely different.

We drop our anchor in the bay in the north of the island, just in time to let the afternoon squall roll over us.

From Iboih, Pulau Weh to Langkawi and Georgetown, Penang

Right in front of the Island called Pulau Rubiah in Iboih we drop our anchor. Only the following day we find out that we are a bit close to the snorkeling spot for the local tourists, the little boats go back and forth the whole day from 9 to 5 and shake us around every time they pass.

Most of the snorkelers wear an orange swim safety jacket and long clothes. Here in Aceh a very conservative Muslim religion is practiced and the Sharia law is in place.
